Design Challenge: The 12'x 15' entry courtyard for this corner condominium was surrounded by rough fencing with views of utility poles and wires. The Great Room balcony looks down into the entry court. The gate was utilitarian and the home had no other outdoor seating area.

Now: The gracious new entry harmonizes with the lovely, urban interior. The planted courtyard is attractive throughout the year welcoming guests and owner alike. Urban traffic noise has been buffered by the gentle sound of the small modern fountain. The sheen of the curved flagstone echoes the metallic glazes of the planted containers. The scale of the elements and the generously curved walkway make the entry court feel much larger than it is.
