| MEDITERRANEAN NW TERRACE
Design
Challenge:
The view entertainment deck looked down on an unexciting slopping grassy area surrounded by a very tall privacy laurel hedge. The area need landscaping for viewing down into, be available for entertaining, and remain private despite close neighbors. It needed to be brought up to the standard of the landscaped Mediterranean entry garden Land2c had designed two years earlier.
Now:
The formerly unused sloping lawn is now a welcoming stepped terrace with comfortable shady seating under a sunny umbrella and arbor. The hardscaping and wooden pergola repeat the front garden detailing, the planting palettes blend, and the new garden doors and fountain are faithful to the architectural style. The clients frequently enjoy the new lower terrace outdoor room for additional entertaining space and use it privately for a shady retreat. The vine covered wooden structure unifies the two-story home with the new lower terrace and gated entry. |
